The RED-485 is a multiprotocol communication interface that allows information to be transferred seamlessly between a Toshiba inverter and several different RS-485-based fieldbus networks with minimal configuration requirements. The interface installs in-line between the automation system network and the inverter’s RS-485 port. The RED-485 presents a fixed, screw-style terminal block for connection to the RS-485 network. The interface is powered directly from the inverter, connecting via a standard Cat5 (or similar, e.g. Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, etc.) cable for both power and communication.
